What you can expect
Community Paediatrics and Neurodevelopment prescription service during the Christmas period
The last day for ordering of prescriptions before Christmas will be Friday, 13th December 2024 and the last day for collection before Christmas will be Friday, 20th December 2024.
Unfortunately, we will be unable to accept any prescription requests from Friday, 13th December 2024 until Monday, 6th January 2025. Our online prescription request form will be unavailable during this period.
Please kindly bring ID when collecting prescriptions.
Prescription Ordering Process
The Neurodevelopmental Service uses an online platform for you to request prescriptions for your child.
How to Request Prescriptions Online:
- Log in to our secure online portal
- Fill in the required information and submit your request
Please allow 5 working days for your prescription request to be processed. You will receive a text message when your prescription is ready for collection, please bring your ID when picking up the prescription.
If you are a Cardiff patient, your prescription will be ready for collection at St David’s Children’s Centre. If you are a Vale patient, your prescription will be ready for collection at Llandough Children’s Centre.
This process aims to improve efficiency and convenience for you, ensuring a smoother prescription fulfilment experience.
Observation Clinic Attendance Requirements
These clinics play a crucial role in monitoring the child/young person’s progress and adjusting their treatment plan accordingly. Non-attendance may result in the following consequences:
- Prescription Non-Issuance: Failure to attend the required observation clinics may lead to a delay in prescription being issued.
- Patient Discharge: Prolonged non-attendance without mitigating reasons may result in the discharge of the child/young person from our services.

We will provide advance notice for all observation clinics, giving you time to schedule your appointments.
